Trinity Health Oakland is always in need of caring individuals who can volunteer to help in various areas of the Hospital. We consider each volunteer to be an integral part of our healthcare team who freely gives of their time, talent, and resources to help Trinity Health Oakland carry out its mission and core values of service to the community.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age at the time of applying. Additionally, those volunteers who are between the ages of 16-17 years of age will need to have a parent sign a consent form allowing you to volunteer.

    • Cancer Resource/Infusion Center
    • Admitting/Registration
    • Ambulatory Surgical Center
    • Front Desk Greeter - 3 locations are available including South Tower Lobby, Ambulatory Surgical Center Lobby and Woodward Professional Building Lobby
    • Surgical Lounge
    • Spiritual Care Department (Ministers of Care and Eucharistic Ministers)
    • No One Dies Alone Program (NODA) - special training required. Adults only
    • Cuddler Program - special training required. Adults Only
    • Endoscopy
    • Hospitality Cart
    • Office Support
    • Cath Lab
    • Inpatient Pharmacy
    • Music - playing in the Chapel with your own instrument, South Tower Lobby and other requested areas.
    • Pre/Post Recovery Area

KEY Requirements:

There are certain key requirements that we ask each person to meet in order to volunteer at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital. These requirements are set in place for your benefit, as well as for the benefit of our patients, visitors, and staff. Each requirement must be met before your first day of volunteering.

Application and Required Paperwork - All required paperwork to begin volunteering needs to be completed in Full before submitting it in its entirety.

Expectations - Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 hours a week for a season.

Interview - All volunteer applicants will speak to a Volunteer Membership Onboarding Specialist once your completed application has been submitted. This phone interview will take approximately 20-30 minutes and will include a review of your application, discussion of volunteer interests and goals, determining potential placement options that may match your areas of interest, assign an Orientation and start date, as well as answer any questions you may have.

Background Check - All Volunteers will be subject to a criminal background check.

Health Screening - A TB Blood test is required to volunteer along with a record of all your up to date immunizations and vaccines.

Onboarding - Student Volunteer Applications are ONLY accepted TWICE A YEAR (Summer and Fall Seasons).

Fall STUDENT Onboarding - Completed applications must be received no later than SEPTEMBER 26TH.

Spring STUDENT Onboarding - Completed applications must be received no later than MAY 1ST

Adult Volunteers, including CUDDLERS, those applications are accepted ALL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Training/Orientation - As a new volunteer, you are required to attend and complete a 2-hour scheduled Orientation that is set up during your Onboarding Interview with the Onboarding Specialist
