Bridging Health Care and Community Through Hands-On Experiences
Trinity Health Academy is a free, hands-on educational program offering behind-the-scenes healthcare experiences and customized workshops for community members, patients, youth, and healthcare professionals. Designed to build trust and understanding, the Academy fosters connections, promotes health education, and strengthens community relationships. Sessions are designed to expose participants to traditional and non-traditional healthcare initiatives, engage in meaningful dialogues to foster deeper connections, and promote healthier lifestyles.
Community Division of The Academy is designed for community members, community-based organizations, and Trinity Health colleagues, aiming to improve health outcomes through knowledge-based immersive sessions tailored to meet participants’ social, health, and resource needs.
Trinity Health and IHA Medical Group- Hypertension Workshop
The Hypertension Workshop Academy offers Trinity Health/IHA patients diagnosed with high blood pressure a comprehensive three-part workshop series combining clinical expertise with holistic wellness strategies. Participants learn effective hypertension management through an integrated approach focusing on heart-healthy nutrition, stress reduction techniques, medication management, and community support services–all designed to empower patients in their cardiovascular health journey.
Sample Program Overview: 3 sessions (1 session per month across 3 consecutive months), 2.5 hours each

Community Partners Program
The Community Partners Academy engages community-based organizations, colleagues, volunteers, and partners. The focus of this program is to highlight the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Implementation Strategy priority areas.
Sample Program Overview: 1-4 sessions, 2.5- 4 hours each, meeting weekly.
Topics covered in sessions may include: Overview of Trinity Health, access to community services, Simulation Lab tour, The Farm at Trinity Health tour, Lifestyle Medicine cooking demonstrations, housing and workforce development, community outreach programs tours, mental health, trauma, emergency preparedness, Community Health & Well Being, Behavioral Health Services, and more!
The Youth Division serves students from elementary through college age, recognizing that today's young people are tomorrow's community leaders and healthcare advocates. We are committed to improving community health both immediately and for generations to come by investing in youth education. Through hands-on exposure to healthcare systems and the interconnected relationship between health and community well-being, we empower students with knowledge and experiences that will shape healthier communities for years to come.
Bring Your Child to Work Day
Trinity Health's Bring Your Child to Work Day is an engaging on-site event that strengthens connections between our organization, colleagues, and their families. Children explore various hospital departments firsthand, discovering the meaningful work their parents do while fostering curiosity about healthcare careers. The day features interactive activities and quality time with parents, creating lasting memories while introducing the next generation to the world of healthcare.
Healthy Hearts & Lungs 101
Healthy Hearts & Lungs 101 is a hands-on learning experience designed for 5th and 6th-grade school groups. Students learn about topics that can help prevent heart and lung disease later in life through engaging activities promoting the dangers of smoking, the importance of good nutrition, the value of regular exercise, and proper sleep. The Philanthropy Division is a unique initiative with our Trinity Health Academy, thoughtfully designed for community and business leaders. It serves as a bridge—connecting the vital needs of the communities we serve with the generous support of our partners. Through exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to Trinity Health’s outreach programs, key service lines, and resources, participants gain a deeper understanding of how we care for our neighbors and friends. This immersive experience fosters meaningful relationships, encourages collaboration, and highlights the real-world impact of our shared mission. Rooted in our commitment to serve together in the spirit of the Gospel, the Academy is more than a tour—it’s a platform for dialogue, insight, and transformation. It invites valuable feedback and sparks conversations about how we can better support our communities and strengthen our partnerships. Together, we’re building a healthier, more compassionate future—one connection at a time.
