First time I met him, he was very thorough and kind.
The one phrase I would recommend Dr. Johnson stop using with a patient is "this probably won't make sense to you or you probably won't understand this". My son's comment after was "does he think I'm stupid?". The rest of his style, tone, care and manner was excellent. And he explains well. Just assume the patient will get it, and if they don't they'll ask.
My appointment couldn't have been better. Dr. Johnson was very thorough and compassionate. I have already referred two of my friends to Dr. Johnson.

I was overly impressed with the protocol of preparing me for the surgery in office in the room. There was GREAT CARE taken in keeping themselves and me and my hand from being contaminated with germs that could cause infection later.

I had carpel tunnel sugery with Dr.Johnson he was wonderful and his staff was just as wonderful.

Dr Johnson worked with his scheduling staff to find a way to schedule my surgery so I could participate in my religious practice. He personally called me to let me know that he had found a way to schedule my surgery to accommodate my plans.
I was extremely anxious about whatever was going on with my thumb. staff is excellent, welcoming and considerate. I was called back almost immediately. doc casein quickly, listened patiently, asked some questions, did a few manual tests, then explained my choices. very straightforward presentation, clear explanation of risks for each of the choices. I chose the cortisone injection. it was basically painless, I was all worked up for naught. had a great result, the injection lasted about 8 months. just went back for a second one. asked about problems with my opposite hand, and he immediately did X-rays, and a pokey test. need surgery for this one and feel safe and comfortable in his care.
I have always had an excellent experience with all of the people I have encountered at Chelsea hospital. it's kind of amazing.
