Why I chose this program/location for my training

Trinity Health Muskegon was by far my favorite audition rotation of fourth year. I truly felt the camaraderie between residents and faculty; It was clear how much everyone genuinely cares for and supports one another. That kind of culture within a residency program is rare, and I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

I also had the chance to get to know each of the residents during my time there, and I look forward to continuing to grow alongside them, both as colleagues and as friends.

Hobbies/what I do outside of work

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, music, dancing and softball.

Growing up on the west side of Michigan, I am so excited to be back closer to family and serving this community. The residents and faculty are extremely welcoming and supportive. I am excited about the opportunity to train here because of the acuity of care and high level of training.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, taking a workout class and spending time with my husband, family, friends, and golden retriever Izzy! I love listening to Taylor Swift and watching MSU sports!

I completed an audition rotation in Muskegon and saw firsthand how residents cared for one another, both personally and academically. They created a learning environment that both challenged and supported me, which is exactly what I was looking for in a residency program.

Why I chose this program/location for my training

I enjoy living on the West side of Michigan, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of a community-based program, so when considering residency programs Trinity Health-Muskegon aligned with what I was looking for. I was then able to do a rotation with the program as a visiting student and fell in love with the people. The faculty and residents were very welcoming and provided a high level of care in an atmosphere that I knew I wanted to be a part of!

Outside of work, I like playing beach volleyball, pickleball, knitting/crocheting, and exploring new restaurants and breweries.

I chose this residency because of the immediate connection I felt with the residents, attendings and staff! I was impressed by the competency of the senior residents and knew that I would get the highest of quality training here. I knew that I would thrive best in an environment where I can learn and have fun at the same time! Also, because the west side is the best side!

Outside of work, one of my favorite hobbies is reading! I also love to spend time with friends and family, my dogs, and staying active whether its going to the gym or getting outside!

I was born in Michigan and most of my extended family lives throughout the state, so that made it an easy place to consider. I wanted a change of scenery for residency and to be part of a program that feels like a second family. I loved my month as a visiting student with the program, and I couldn't imagine a better community to be part of!

Why I chose this program/location for my training

I am originally from West Michigan and was fortunate enough to be placed at Trinity Health Muskegon for my third and fourth-year medical school rotations. During this time, I became familiar with the hospital, patient population, and residency program. I loved learning from the residents and faculty at Trinity Health Muskegon and was confident that the OB/GYN training here would be exceptional.

I appreciate the team atmosphere and the learning opportunities available to the trainees in both obstetrics and gynecology. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be here!

Hobbies/interests outside of work

I enjoy doing anything outside - running, hiking, camping and kayaking. I love trying a new recipe or redecorating with the help of Facebook Marketplace. My fiancé and I are always scheming to travel if we have the opportunity. And above all, any time spent with my people (family, friends, or my husky) is time well-spent!

Why I chose this program/location for my training

I chose this program because of the amount of care and support the staff members provide for patients and for each other. I didn’t have to spend a lot of time here to know that this was the place where I wanted to be. They place value on community, collaboration, and autonomy, while providing a well-rounded education that I know will allow me to thrive as an OB/GYN.

As someone who grew up in West Michigan, I’m really excited to come back and see what new things have popped up in the city.

My partner and I love to go hiking and camping. A goal of ours is to hit all the National Parks, along with some international. We also enjoy trying new restaurants or new recipes (depending on the budget, haha). Some other things I like to do to relax are go to the beach, play video games or binge a good TV show.

Why I chose this program/location for my training

Being from West Michigan, I knew I wanted to return home to complete my residency training so that we could be near our family and a community we love. I completed an elective rotation at Trinity Health Muskegon during my clinical rotations in medical school and fell in love with the people and enjoyed serving women from the community where I grew up.

The residents and attendings were always so encouraging, I loved showing up each day, and I knew that if I came to this program I would receive an excellent education that prepared me to care for women across their lifespan.

I love spending time with my husband and two children. We love anything outdoors, but our favorite thing to do is go out on the boat with family in Northern Michigan. We also enjoy sports, whether watching or playing.

Mercy Health's OB/GYN program is filled with individuals who are caring and supportive. The camaraderie between residents and attendings truly makes this program a family. When I was considering programs, I wanted to be at a place that values what each individual has to offer and supports them to become the people they were made to be and do what is in their heart to do for the world! Why I chose this program/location for my training

I came to this hospital as a family medicine resident and found a passion for womens health and obstetric care. The attendings and residents were always so supportive of my education and this program affords residents a robust, well rounded education in obstetric and surgical care. As far as location, you can’t beat West Michigan summers!

I love the outdoors whether at the beach, kayaking, running, hiking or biking. I also spend my time with my husband and our two dogs. I also enjoy reading books and sharing them with friends.
